The following is a calendar of in-person workshop offerings taught by Dory CotE and VISITING shamanic teachers.
We will meet on the magnificent shores of Damariscotta Lake at The Kennedy Learning Center in Nobleboro, Maine for two long residential weekends per year and at the Midcoast Yoga Center (The Barn), in Topsham, Maine for two non-residential weekends per year. These four gatherings per year for two years are filled with extraordinary shamanic teachings and initiations sculpted to take the participants into deep shamanic experiences and spiritual growth that enable the "becoming" necessary to truly "being" the Hollow Bone.
This is likely the final Shamanic Apprenticeship Program Dory will teach. Packed with valuable insights and shamanic wisdom and teachings from Dory’s 25+ years of experience as a shamanic teacher and healer, this program will be sure to change your world forever.
Dory will lead you in understanding how mystics and shamans have known for centuries that the power and wounds of our ancestors are legacies that require honor and attention. Currently scientists are writing about their discoveries that we inherit “tendencies” in our DNA going back as far as seven generations. Some of our ancestral wounds may require healing to enable stepping into this lifetime’s potential! In this workshop you will be the beneficiary of this profound healing. Learn how to help heal others of ancestral wounds!
All levels of writers are welcome, from just getting started, to finally finishing your next manuscript! Join Dory Cote and Jill Hackett for 5 days of writing, deep soul journeying, and delving more profoundly into your writing process and purpose. Dory will lead you on guided journeys, discovering your muse, writing guides, and deep stories. Jill will guide you through mining your family stories, and discovering your unique writing intelligences, skills, and process. The time will be balanced between group and individual time; the days will begin and end with hands on experiences and rituals to support your writing. Dory and Jill will have “office hours” during writing times, for the potential occasion of writer’s block or the need for a boost.
This workshop is a new creation of mine intended to introduce the curious in addition to those who are well-practiced shamanic journeyers into the realm of our natural world through the shamanic lens.
Join me in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northern North Caroline at the fabulous Art of Living Retreat Center where you will be treated by stunning beauty, hotel quality housing, gourmet vegetarian meals and the opportunity to explore numerous walking trails.
This is the definitive last Hollow Bone Program Dory will teach. She has chosen to make it an extraordinary and expanded one by making each of four meetings a 5-day residential experience. Dory will be your primary teacher and guide throughout this program with occasional teachings, movement exercises, and ceremonies led by Nancy Bower. You can expect to be learning through shamanic initiations such as what are revealed in Mircea Eliade's work entitled "Shamanism," a classic research text of the ways of the shamans in antiquity. We will perform trance dances, experience shamanic art using a variety of media, and deepen our connection with the spirits of nature by performing numerous activities as well as individual and group ceremonies outdoors. You will come to know the spirits of nature in ways you have not previously imagined. We will form a tight Circle of support and love throughout our time together. Each meeting includes at least one major shamanic initiation performed in a safe and sacred truly inspirited environment.
